At TC Group, we're more than accountants. We're trusted business advisors helping ambitious entrepreneurs, SMEs and larger organisations achieve their goals.

As one of the UK's fastest-growing Top 20 accountancy firms, we're proud of our people-first culture, our collaborative approach and our commitment to helping both our clients and our colleagues succeed.

We're looking for a talented Accounts Manager to join our group compliance team. If you're looking for a role where your ideas are valued, your development is supported and your contribution genuinely makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a qualified (or qualified by experience) accountant to join our central compliance team in a varied, internal role supporting quality, regulatory compliance and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity across the group.

This is not a client-facing position. The role will support our offices, partners and staff across the group, helping them maintain consistent quality and compliance standards and providing practical assistance across the full range of work undertaken by the central compliance team.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Compliance and Quality manager, you'll be responsible for:

  • Undertaking accounts cold file reviews as part of our quality control programme.
  • Assisting with the management and coordination of M&A compliance activities, including information requests, review programmes, action logs and liaison with target firms and internal teams.
  • Carrying out on-site compliance due diligence (DD) reviews of prospective acquisitions, including reviewing accounts files, systems, procedures and compliance records.
  • Contributing to written DD reports, identifying material risks and recommending practical remedial actions.
  • Monitoring and following up pre-completion and post-acquisition compliance actions.
  • Supporting anti-money laundering (AML) reviews, queries, policies, procedures and monitoring.
  • Assisting with Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) regulatory matters, submissions, applications and monitoring visits.
  • Providing internal support to offices and staff on wider practice compliance matters, including engagement acceptance, letters of engagement, complaints, professional standards and internal policies.
  • Identifying recurring issues and helping to develop practical guidance, training and improvements to group processes.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • ACA/ACCA/ICAS qualified or qualified by experience.
  • Strong practical knowledge of United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice (UK GAAP) and accounts file requirements.
  • Good technical judgement and the ability to identify, assess and communicate significant issues.
  • Strong written, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • A practical, proportionate and solutions-focused approach.
  • The confidence to work constructively with partners, managers and staff across the group.
  • The ability to manage multiple reviews, workstreams and follow-up actions.
  • A willingness to travel to group offices and prospective acquisition targets as required.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who shares our values, enjoys working collaboratively and is passionate about delivering great results.
