About the Junior Accountant role:
As a Junior Accountant, you will gain hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting tasks while working towards your professional qualifications. You will assist with bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll processing, and the preparation of financial statements for a diverse client portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to learn from experienced accountants, develop technical skills, and build strong client relationships.
Key responsibilities:
- Preparing year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, sole traders and LLPs
- Preparing management accounts
- Corporate tax returns
- Personal tax returns
- VAT returns
- Delivering excellent client service
- Working closely with clients, the accounts team and other departments, including direct contact with partners and managers to obtain the required information to prepare accounts
- Involvement in audit work as and when required
About you:
- Minimum of Grade 4 (or equivalent) in Maths and English at GCSE
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
- Self-motivated
- Organised, efficient with attention to detail
- Driven and initiative-bearing
- Able to reliably commute to the Peterborough office
- Comfortable in a client-facing role
- Dynamic individual with a positive “can do” attitude
- Highly personable with excellent written and verbal communication skills
