TC Bulley Davey are looking for a Client Relationship Manager to join the team in Peterborough.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of accountancy clients, act as a trusted point of contact and ensure exceptional service delivery.
You will work closely with internal teams to understand client needs, identify growth opportunities and support long‑term client retention.
Key responsibilities of a Client Relationship Manager will include
- Reviewing year‑end accounts, corporation and personal tax returns and VAT returns prepared by senior or junior members of the accounts team.
- Helping clients with general advice and software questions.
- Managing a portfolio of clients, including workforce planning, management of WIP and billing.
- Briefing team members on assignments and ensuring everyone has a clear understanding of the plans.
- Overseeing junior team members, delegating work and signing off on files prepared by them to ensure work is done within budget.
- Strengthening existing client relationships.
- Contributing to ongoing process improvement and best practice development.
- Winning new clients.
About you
- We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- 3+ years of practice experience.
- Working knowledge of accounting software including Sage and Xero; previous use of CCH would be an advantage.
- Recent experience of accounts production with a good level of technical knowledge of accounting standards.
- Strong Excel skills (including VLOOKUP, SUMIF and Pivot Tables).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self‑motivated and able to demonstrate drive and initiative.
- Comfortable in a client‑facing role.
- Strong background in accounts preparation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Previous knowledge and experience of a broad range of sectors would be an advantage.
- Solid communication skills, with experience of regular in‑person or telephone client contact.
- Organised and diligent, ensuring jobs are processed in a timely way and client requests are dealt with.
- Participative team player who motivates others and willingly accepts tasks to assist others.
