We are TC Group, the fastest‑growing top 20 accountancy firm in the UK. We are looking for a Payroll Senior / Payroll Manager to join our team in either the Colchester or Clacton‑on‑Sea office.

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 21-36 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working

Holiday: 22 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing payroll on behalf of clients for varying client types
  • Running a payroll portfolio liaising with clients and assisting with queries
  • Managing internal systems
  • Collaborating with clients to ensure seamless flow and maintenance of employee data, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional service
  • Maintaining meticulous records and a robust document control system, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Staying up to date with company policies and tax legislation impacting payroll, ensuring adherence and compliance at all times

Qualifications:

  • CIPP qualified or qualified by experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a practice environment
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation to enable client queries to be dealt with
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office / Excel – essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Awareness of confidentiality and need for discretion
  • Ability to work well in a pressured and fast‑paced environment
