We’re looking for an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to join our growing team in Oldbury.
The role would suit a newly qualified/finalist ACCA or ICAEW and would provide a great opportunity to apply knowledge gained in accounting, audit and corporation tax as part of your 3 years practical work experience. The audit senior will be required to prepare statutory accounts, complete statutory audits, prepare corporation tax returns as well as provide other professional advice. Approximately 50% of the time will be at clients’ premises conducting audits on the statutory accounts. Our clients are typically small-medium owner managed businesses over a wide range of industries.
Within our Top 20 clients we have a number of more complex groups with overseas subsidiaries or parents with turnover of up to £50m. You need to be skilled at client handling and dealing with client queries in a professional manner. This can take the form of running through errors that we have found with them during the audit as well as other issues identified that will appear in the management letter. As such the client can be the owner manager and their bookkeeper who has a minimum knowledge of accounts, or a high level FD who has a good knowledge of accounts.
You must be able to complete files to a high quality standard, review junior team members work, provide coaching to the junior team and be prepared to report directly to the partners and/or senior managers depending on the complexity of the job. We expect our teams to work hard, and commit themselves to providing excellent client service. About you
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Ideally a newly qualified/finalist ACCA or ICAEW candidate or equivalent (Not AAT).
- Numerate, self-motivated, accurate and a good communicator.
- Able to manage your own work load so as to ensure an efficient and timely delivery of services to our clients.
