About the Apprentice Accountant role
As a Trainee Accountant with TC Group, this role offers the start of an exciting career in accountancy practice. The successful candidate will support the Outsourcing team with daily, weekly, and monthly financial tasks, helping to ensure the smooth and effective running of clients’ businesses while gaining valuable hands‑on experience. Initial study support is offered at AAT Level 3 or Level 4, depending on experience, alongside ongoing mentoring and development within a professional practice environment.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting core bookkeeping activities including bank reconciliations, processing supplier invoices, raising sales invoices, and reconciling supplier statements
- Assisting with routine accounting tasks such as posting payroll journals, prepayments, and ensuring accurate maintenance of client records and statements
- Handling client and supplier queries via email and telephone, ensuring timely and professional responses while escalating where appropriate
- Managing administrative duties including maintaining client files, monitoring shared inboxes, answering calls, and completing internal checks
- Building positive relationships with clients and colleagues, contributing to team objectives and supporting a collaborative working environment
- Assisting with business development activities by promoting the firm’s services and demonstrating an understanding of the value of time and deadlines
