About the Payroll Client Manager role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Client Manager to join our London Blackfriars office. This is an opportunity supporting the Payroll Team in providing an efficient and comprehensive payroll service to clients.
Key responsibilities of a Payroll Client Manager will include:
- Proven experience in managing a payroll function within a multi-client or complex payroll environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, statutory requirements and auto-enrolment, with experience of managing UK payrolls.
- Experience coordinating payroll legislative updates and completing year-end payroll processes accurately and on time.
- Communicate confidently with clients, colleagues and HMRC, providing clear guidance and timely responses to payroll queries.
- Build strong client relationships by managing expectations, maintaining a client-focused approach and offering practical advisory support.
- Supervise and support team members where required.
- Manage the day-to-day administration of client payrolls, including RTI submissions, year-end reporting and payroll legislative updates.
- Process starters, leavers, SMP, SPP, SSP, student loans, attachment of earnings orders and other statutory payroll items.
- Upload pension contributions and support clients with pension and auto-enrolment requirements.
- Review and check payrolls to ensure accuracy, compliance and timely completion.
- Deal promptly and professionally with payroll queries.
- Meet strict deadlines while processing all work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
About you
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Experience using IRIS Payroll Professional.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance, statutory family leave, tax coding and other payroll-related requirements.
- Comprehensive understanding of pensions and automatic enrolment.
- Ability to calculate payroll manually and clearly explain results, calculations and breakdowns to clients.
- Excellent organisational skills, with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
- A professional and discreet approach to confidential information.
- Confident communication skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
