We're looking for a talented Tax Manager to join our Hertford team. We're looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing Peterborough team. In this role, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high quality tax compliance and advisory services while building strong, trusted relationships. You'll work closely with clients and colleagues across the business, providing practical solutions to complex tax matters and helping clients achieve their goals. As well as managing your own portfolio, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of the tax team, supporting colleagues, sharing your expertise, and helping to shape the future direction of the department. As our Tax Manager, you'll be responsible for: Managing a portfolio of self-assessment tax clients, taking ownership of client relationships and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality work. Supporting clients with tax compliance requirements, including Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax, personal tax, and trust tax matters. Identifying and advising on potential tax planning opportunities and technical issues, including capital gains tax, residence matters, trusts, property taxation, pension contributions, and loss relief. Preparing tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, tax accounting schedules, and supporting audit requirements. Building strong relationships with clients and collaborating closely with colleagues across the wider business. Travelling to other offices as required to support clients and work alongside the wider tax team. Managing work in progress, monitoring debtors, raising fees, and contributing to departmental budgeting and financial performance. Providing tax support and responding to technical queries from colleagues across other service lines. Playing a key role in the growth and development of the tax function, including supporting and mentoring team members where appropriate CTA qualified with at least 4 years' experience within an accountancy practice. Strong tax compliance background with experience managing a diverse client portfolio. Solid technical tax knowledge, with the ability to identify and support advisory opportunities. Strong communication skills, with experience building relationships and liaising directly with clients. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Advanced Excel skills, including experience using VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs and Pivot Tables. Experience with accounting and tax software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Dext and CCH would be advantageous. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with a willingness to travel as required.
