We have an exciting opportunity for a CAS Apprentice at our Ferryhill office.

As a CAS Apprentice, you will support our Client Accounting Services team with bookkeeping, reconciliations, VAT returns, payroll and accounts preparation while studying towards your AAT qualification.

This is a great opportunity to gain practical accounting experience, develop your technical skills and build a successful career within a growing accountancy firm.

The successful candidate will be based primarily at our Ferryhill office Monday to Thursday, with Fridays spent working from our Stanley office.

Key responsibilities of a

CAS Apprentice will include

  • Deliver a warm, friendly and professional service to clients in line with the company’s values.
  • Support bookkeeping activities using cloud-based accounting software.
  • Process purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations, control accounts and VAT returns.
  • Support payroll processing and pension administration.
  • Help prepare management accounts and year-end accounts.
  • Maintain accurate client records and workflow systems.
  • Gather and manage client information and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Support digital systems, software adoption and process improvements.
  • Develop accounting knowledge through apprenticeship studies, CPD and on-the-job learning.

  • Effective at managing time, solving problems and taking ownership of personal development.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own transport.
