Hours and Working Conditions: Monday to Friday, 28-36 hours per week, with flexible, hybrid working. Holiday: 22 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays).

About the Senior Accountant Role: We are TC Group, the fastest-growing top 20 accountancy firm in the UK. We are business advisors and accountants, with over 30 years of experience. We have honed our skills and developed a service offering to deliver a wider range of bespoke support and advice to ambitious business owners and their businesses. We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in either the Colchester or Clacton-on-Sea office. We are open to full-time candidates (36 hours per week) or part-time candidates (minimum of 28 hours per week over 4 days). Candidates should be AAT/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a practice environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing accounts for clients (limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, LLLPs, charities and groups)
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and delivering a consistently high standard of service
  • Managing your own workload to ensure assignments are completed accurately, on time and within budget
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and assisting with tax compliance where required
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations and industry developments
  • Adopting a hands-on approach as needed to support the wider team and ensure deadlines are met

About You:

  • AAT/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a practice environment
  • Knowledge of tax, audit
