Salary – Competitive, depending on experience. Hours – Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Holiday – 23.5 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays).

About the Client Manager role

Due to growth, our Dudley office is seeking an experienced Client Manager to join the team. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of clients, delivering high‑quality accountancy services while building strong, long‑term relationships. You’ll be responsible for managing workloads, supporting junior staff, and ensuring projects are completed accurately and on time. Working closely with senior leadership, you will help maintain excellent client service and contribute to the team’s ongoing growth and success.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of clients, including responsibility for workforce planning, work in progress (WIP) management, and billing.
  • Briefing team members on assignments, ensuring clear understanding of objectives, timelines, and expectations.
  • Overseeing junior team members, delegating work effectively and reviewing outputs to ensure accuracy, quality, and completion within budget.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contact and developing rapport with both existing and new clients.
  • Contributing to ongoing process improvement initiatives and the development of best practices across the team.
  • Utilising accounting systems such as CCH, Sage, and Xero to manage client work efficiently and accurately.

About you

  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience within an accountancy practice environment.
  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Great attention to detail, with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Confident in building and maintaining relationships with both clients and internal team members.
  • Proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience using accounting systems such as CCH, Sage, and Xero, with a good working knowledge of practice software.
