About the Senior Accountant role
We are TC Group, the fastest-growing top 20 accountancy firm in the UK. We're business advisors and accountants, with over 30 years of experience we've honed our skills and developed our service offering to deliver a much wider range of bespoke support and advice to ambitious business owners and their businesses. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our team in either the Colchester or Clacton-on-Sea office! We are open to full-time candidates (36 hours per week) or part-time candidates (minimum of 28 hours per week over 4 days). We are looking for candidates who are AAT/ACCA qualified or are qualified by experience and have a minimum of 5 years' experience within a practice environment.
Key responsibilities of a Senior Accountant
- Producing accounts for clients (limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, LLLPs, charities and groups)
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and delivering a consistently high standard of service
- Managing your own workload to ensure assignments are completed accurately, on time and within budget
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and assisting with tax compliance where required
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax regulations and industry developments
- Adopting a hands-on approach as needed to support the wider team and ensure deadlines are met
About you
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- AAT/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a practice environment
- Knowledge of tax, audit & payroll is advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Great attention to detail along with strong organisational skills
- Pro-active, self-starter, with a positive attitude
