We're looking for an experienced and motivated Audit Manager to join our Colchester office. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys leading audits, developing client relationships, and taking on increasing responsibility within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.
The Role
This is a predominantly audit-focused position, with approximately 70-80% of your time spent on audit work. You'll manage a varied portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, while also supporting with accounts preparation and some corporate and personal tax work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing coaching and support
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Attending and leading client meetings
- Supporting partners and directors with portfolio management and practice development
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
- Assisting with tax compliance work where required
- Identifying opportunities to improve client service and add value
- Contributing to the training and development of the wider team
About You
We're interested in speaking with candidates who are:
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Currently working at Audit Senior, Assistant Manager or Manager level within a UK accountancy practice
- Experienced in leading external audit assignments
- Comfortable managing client relationships and supervising junior staff
- Technically strong with good knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards
- Looking to take the next step in their career or join a firm offering greater progression opportunities
- Ambitious, proactive and keen to develop towards senior leadership responsibilities
