About the Client Management Accountant role

Role Overview
TC Farnell Clarke in Norwich is looking for a Client Management Accountant to join the Outsourcing Team. You will manage a varied portfolio of Limited Companies and Partnerships, acting as the financial controller for clients with outsourced finance functions, ensuring high-quality, accurate service delivery.
How You Fit In

Each team member manages designated clients, maintaining regular communication, building strong relationships, and providing accurate bookkeeping, management accounts, and cashflow forecasts. We focus on supporting each member’s CPD and career progression.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of clients and be their main point of contact
- Ensure all deadlines are met
- Update clients on service progress and changes
- Maintain strong relationships, explaining financial results and supporting growth initiatives
- Follow up during and after service delivery to meet client needs
- Maintain high service standards and improve financial processes
- Prepare and annotate management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and assist with budgets
- Perform full balance sheet reconciliations
- Review profit and loss statements
- Produce management reports and discuss results with clients
- Assist in reviewing team management accounts
- Review VAT returns to ensure timely submission
- Manage small projects and coordinate resources
Culture and Support
Support team training and development alongside the Senior Finance Partner. Provide and receive feedback within the team.
Candidate Profile
We seek candidates with:
- Experience in an accountancy practice, qualified (ACCA/ACA) or qualified by experience
- Knowledge of accounting issues affecting small to medium-sized owner-managed businesses
- Ability to build client relationships
- Confident decision-making skills and willingness to seek help when needed
- Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero, Dext, and Fathom (advantageous)
- Motivated, driven, and team-oriented
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adaptable to various sectors
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
- Initiative, judgment, and ownership of issues from start to finish
