Job Description
Salary – Competitive dependant on experience
Hours – Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Holiday – 28 days annual leave (Inclusive of bank holiday allowance, to be booked when you like) allowance increases by one day per each year of service following 5 years’ service (up to a maximum of 33 days)

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join the team in our Plymouth office.
We are looking for candidates with previous accountancy practice experience to support a range of accounts, tax and audit processes. In return we can offer study support for the ACA qualification or AAT if not yet qualified – please note this is optional but if desired a pre-xmas (2025) start date must be agreed.
Key responsibilities of an Accountant will include:
- preparing year end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, sole-traders and LLP’s
- preparing management accounts
- corporate tax returns
- personal tax returns
- VAT returns
- bookkeeping for clients
- delivering excelling client service
- working closely with clients, other members of the accounts team and other departments, including direct contact with the Partners, managers and clients in order to obtain the required information to prepare their accounts
- involvement in audit work as and when required
About you
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- minimum 2 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
- ideally AAT qualified
- proficient in MS office, especially Excel
- great attention to detail along with strong organisational skills
- pro-active and positive attitude
- strong communication and interpersonal skills – written and verbal
- be able to confidently work alone but also be a team player
