The Opportunity
- We have an exciting opportunity for an
- Audit Senior in our
- Lewes office. As an
Audit Senior you will be working on a varied and good quality portfolio of audit clients, within the owner-managed corporates, not for profit and charities, the
Audit Senior will work alongside Audit Managers on key and mid-tier accounts.
The position will be in a client facing role, establishing strong relationships with a significant number of business owners across the region.
Key responsibilities of an Audit Senior will include
- Take a lead on the audit process from planning through to completion
- Undertake non audit assignments, including accounts preparation and tax computations
- Prepare a job to meaningful and realistic budgets, liaising with Manager on any issues
- Demonstrate good utilisation of relevant software
- Demonstrate an awareness and some understanding of the clients business and manage each job to ensure client expectations and deadlines are met
- Assist in the development of others, particularly trainees through providing thoughtful feedback on jobs, offering coaching and support as necessary and supporting the Manager with useful, constructive feedback as appropriate
- Sharing best practice and ideas within the team for process improvement and development of each other
- Communicate verbally and in writing with clients
- Effectively manages Partner and Manager expectations, communicating regularly on progress of jobs
- Remain informed about legislative, technical and regulatory changes and share knowledge amongst the team
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate
- ACA / ACCA qualified
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in an Audit capacity, ideally in Practice
- Good level of technical knowledge of Audit & Accounting standards
- Knowledge of accounting systems and control environments within a finance function
- Previous knowledge of the charities and academy sector would be advantageous
- Familiar with accounting software including Sage and Xero
- Previous use of CCH and Caseware would be an advantage
- Strong Excel skills – including vlookup, sumif and Pivot Tables
- Ability to communicate and engage with clients in a professional but personable manner
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Engaging communication style & active listener
Must have the ability to drive and access to own transport as travel to client sites will be necessary
