We’re a growing, family-owned business specialising in the supply of fixings and fasteners to trade and industry. As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a proactive and versatile Procurement Officer / Buyer to help us take the next step.
About the Role
This is a varied and hands-on role that goes beyond traditional procurement. While you’ll play a key part in sourcing and managing inventory, you’ll also get involved in customer-facing activities and strategic projects that are crucial to our growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and purchase fixings, fasteners, and related products from suppliers in the UK and overseas
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating best pricing and delivery terms
- Manage stock levels, monitor lead times, and coordinate deliveries to meet customer demand
- Support telesales efforts by taking customer calls, processing orders, and providing product advice
- Lead or assist on special projects such as:
- Developing an end-user product catalogue
- Implementing improvements in inventory management systems
- Contributing to our journey toward ISO 9001 certification
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within a construction, engineering, or industrial supply setting
- Comfortable juggling multiple responsibilities across departments
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Confident working independently and within a close-knit team
- Familiarity with inventory systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- A proactive mindset and a willingness to get stuck in wherever needed
