The role involves leading strategic subcontractor and relationship management across a diverse portfolio delivering a mix of cleaning and related services. The focus is on building strong, effective partnerships with key subcontractors while holding them to account for performance, value and risk. The role also requires development of relationships with our operational teams and, where possible, our customers to identify and develop additional sales and service opportunities utilising our subcontractor skill sets. You will work closely with subcontractors to improve delivery, drive additional value beyond the contract, and ensure the business is getting the right outcomes for the money it is spending. Alongside this, you will actively manage risk, protect continuity of supply, and ensure commercial arrangements are delivering as intended. The role will require you to act as the primary liaison between internal project teams and external subcontractors running the projects on customer sites. You will be expected to use sound judgement, including taking measured commercial risks where it leads to better outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify suitable subcontractor businesses to add value and deliver high quality services to TCFM customers.
- Lead the bidding process, negotiate contract terms, and award subcontracts, ensuring alignment with prime contract requirements.
- Project manage all assigned subcontract activities for the business in accordance with the Supply Chain Management functional objectives and ensure effective processes, procedures and resources are deployed.
- Identify new revenue opportunities for subcontract services and work with operations and sales teams to develop and maximise profits generated from them.
- Monitor subcontractor performance against KPIs, schedule, and quality standards, implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Manage contract variations, change orders, and invoicing while mitigating risks to project budget and schedule.
- Act as the primary point of contact for subcontractors, fostering collaboration and resolving disputes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business areas, developing a clear understanding of their priorities and using this to shape sourcing and supplier strategies.
- Use appropriate commercial and contracting approaches to manage risk, improve supplier performance and encourage innovation through stronger collaboration with suppliers.
- Hold suppliers to account for delivery against contractual commitments, including at a senior level, and address underperformance where required.
- Assess supply chains to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring resilience and continuity of supply.
- Anticipate issues and use insight and data to take proactive action that protects value and delivery.
- Work closely with operations and commercial colleagues to review supplier performance, ensuring robust assurance and due diligence is in place.
- Develop and implement exit strategies and contingency plans across key contracts.
- Ensure systems, reporting and management information are accurate, consistent and support effective decision-making.
- Provide clear leadership, direction and support to the business, identifying ways to increase efficiency and improve productivity.
- Compile and deliver presentations to clients and suppliers.
Experience, Qualifications and Skills:
