The Job
Medical and Scientific credibility is the foundation. It’s the core of who and what Flo is. As a group, these teams engage thought leaders and KOLs (120+ and counting!), establish research partnerships (Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Northwestern University, and others), help Developers design our intuitive AI tools, check our Medical Accuracy, and drive medical credibility across the whole platform.
We’re looking for a fully qualified doctor with experience in women’s health and health tech to join our team for a 12 month maternity cover position. You’ll work alongside seven highly experienced and supportive colleagues, all experts in healthtech and passionate about improving women’s health. This is a unique opportunity to bring your expertise to exciting projects like Flo for Partners, Perimenopause mode, and enhancing the user experience for millions. Our team is collaborative and always happy to share knowledge, making it a great role for someone ready to make a real impact in this field.
Your Experience
- Must have:
- Medical Degree.
- Minimum 3 years experience as a clinician.
- Extensive experience in women’s health—either as a GP with a proven interest in women’s health or as an OBGYN.
- Former experience working in a healthtech setting.
- Experience reviewing medical content, and creating user-facing health information.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English (C2 level or higher in both written and spoken communication).
- Nice to have:
- Strong understanding of clinical safety, medical governance, and regulatory requirements in digital health products.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with software product development teams for consumer technology products, particularly in the development and implementation of health-related digital tools or platforms.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be responsible for:
- Ensuring the overall medical accuracy and safety of Flo’s mobile app, upholding high standards of care.
- Performing thorough medical reviews of English-language articles, videos, courses, and other health-related content.
- Collaborating with a variety of teams across Flo to brainstorm, brief, and review medical content for accuracy and reliability.
- Working closely with members of Flo’s Expert Board to peer-review all medical content, ensuring accuracy and adherence to the latest medical guidelines.
- Supporting the development of new features by gathering medical research, contributing to feature creation.
- Providing expert input on medical risk assessments and ensuring regulatory compliance in line with healthcare industry standards.
- Attending team meetings and regular stand-ups with both the medical team and the teams you’ll be supporting.
- Using tools such as Figma, Jira, Miro, and Google Workspace to manage and deliver your work effectively.
You’ll be targeted on:
- Being the main medical point of contact for at least one product team at Flo.
- Bringing new medically appropriate ideas to the product teams for consideration for implementation.
- Aiming for 100% medical accuracy in all content and features, collaborating closely with our Medical Experts board and in-house medical team.
- Working to improve the medical review workflow in the product teams you support.
Salary ranges vary dependent on your skills and experiences.
For this role, we can hire at three levels; L2, L3 or L4. Each level has its own salary range: Salary ranges may vary depending on your skills, competencies and experience.
