Are you an experienced LabVIEW Systems Engineer searching for your next career move? At TBG Solutions we deliver test, measurement and control services to highly regulated industries, designing robust solutions that combine hardware and software. We’re looking for a talented, motivated individual to take engineering requirements from customers and design bespoke software solutions within time and cost constraints.

Role responsibilities:

  • Understanding requirement specifications and electrical/mechanical system design to effectively design and develop bespoke software using standardised in‑house architecture.
  • Developing modular object‑oriented drivers and libraries to complement bespoke software whilst maximising long‑term reusability.
  • Interfacing with COTS instrumentation, custom in‑house designed PCBs and other programming languages/programs.
  • Taking ownership of the entire software lifecycle – design, development, testing and commissioning.
  • Interpretation of customer requirements specifications.
  • Creation of system design documentation (block diagrams, flow charts, class and data hierarchies, requirements and deliverables documentation).
  • Creation of work packages derived from system design documentation.
  • Implementation and testing of work packages.
  • Work-package integration into overall software architecture.
  • Completion of software and system test plans prior to system commissioning.
  • In‑house and customer‑site system commissioning.
  • Performing any other duties and working in any other areas as requested by the Company, if necessary (including other offices and client sites).

Qualifications and experience:

  • 3+ years software design and development in National Instruments LabVIEW (CLD+ preferred).
  • Demonstrable experience of the software design process from development through to validation – essential.
  • Team player with drive to progress to senior level – essential.
  • Experience in automated test, measurement or control – essential.
  • System design and specification documentation – essential.
  • Creation of top‑level system drawings and diagrams – essential.
  • Liaise with customers on specific project requirements – essential.
  • Produce fit‑for‑purpose software within time and project constraints – essential.
  • System integration test and fault‑finding including on‑site works – essential.
  • Good knowledge of National Instruments LabVIEW – essential.
  • Proven track record of systems engineering – essential.
  • Ability to create high‑level system level designs by specifying instrumentation and sensors – essential.
  • Knowledge of GPIB, RS232, TCPIP – desirable.
  • Previous experience in the aerospace and defence industry – desirable.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a related field – desirable.
  • Possess all requirements for successfully meeting formal Security Check (SC) criteria.
  • Sociable style with good drive and dedication.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Motivation and a desire to contribute to a dynamic business.
  • Solid ability to work to tight timescales to deliver projects on time.
  • Able to interpret customer requirements.
  • Able to work within tight budget and timescales.
  • Able to self‑manage to confidently achieve targets.
  • Able to work in a multi‑skilled design team.
  • Candidates must be self‑motivated and have a passion for engineering, delivering projects on time and keen to gain experience in designing, developing, testing and commissioning a wide range of equipment.
