We are working with a Local Authority in the Lancashire Region looking for a Planning and Highways Lawyer to join their department for an initial 3-month period.

The successful candidate must be UK qualified and have upwards of 12 months’ experience in:

  • Planning law matters
  • Highways experience is essential

Expertise in dealing with a wide range of matters including:

  • Drafting and advising in respect of S.106 agreements, S.38 and S.278 agreements
  • Dealing with planning enforcement and planning appeal matters
  • Reviewing and advising upon Development Control Committee reports
  • Attending meetings of members, officers and/or external bodies to advise on legal issues, governance and procedure

You will need to have experience of handling your own legal caseload.

The Council offers a flexible working environment for this assignment. Previous planning legal experience in a local authority is essential.

Pay rate is between £50-60 per hour.

The local authority is looking for a candidate to start as soon as possible. Due to the urgent nature of the role, we are looking to speak to candidates available on no more than 2 weeks’ notice.
