A leading independent prep school in South West London is seeking a Head of English who can teach KS2 from September 2026 (an earlier start date of April will be considered). This is a full time and permanent role and will teach upper KS2 along with being responsible for the English curriculum.
This School's ethos is built on human values and expects all members of the school community to follow it both inside and outside of school. The School is proud to develop happy, confident pupils who are interesting and interested in the world around them. A stimulating curriculum is provided, encouraging every student to try new and different things, all underpinned by a supportive and caring pastoral system.
This role will entail teaching and leading English at the upper end of the prep school - across Years 5 and 6. You will also be expected to teach some other subjects as well such as Humanities. The pupils are kind natured, keen to learn and very able and the Head wants to offer this fantastic role to someone who is passionate, dynamic, kind, supportive and an excellent classroom practitioner with a specialism in English. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching English at Year 5 or Year 6.
