A leading British International School in Vietnam is seeking a Head of Futures for August 2026. This is a full-time role on a 2-year contract. The School empowers their students to challenge themselves, to push beyond the boundaries of their own expectations and to achieve more than they ever believed possible. As a result, pupils are described as self-confident and generous in spirit. Pupils are encouraged to take ownership of their learning and are provided with an extensive extracurricular programme in order for them to find and develop unique talents and interests. The School is a family community and has excellent resources and grounds at a state-of-the-art campus.
The Head of Futures advises on university admissions, higher education, and careers education, and holds responsibility for these areas. This role oversees all aspects of university admissions and careers advice and supports with Year 11 option choices. This is a teaching role, with an appropriate timetable, alongside leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting Year 11 pupils with their IBDP choices with a view to further studies and careers.
- Develop and oversee a Careers Programme for Years 9-11.
- Supporting parents and pupils by providing support and guidance.
- Advising pupils on university applications and options including offering expert advice on UK, US and Australian universities.
- Detailed working knowledge of the UCAS process and international university processes including SAT and admissions processes.
- Overseeing the writing of university references by tutors and others.
- Keeping pupils, parents, and staff informed about developments in higher education.
