A leading independent prep school on the Berkshire and Buckinghamshire borders is seeking a passionate Head of Rugby to lead and coach Rugby throughout the school. This is a full-time and permanent role from September 2026.

This is a vibrant prep school that delivers a first-class education in a warm, family environment. It has a strong reputation for providing academic excellence, first-rate sport and a strong tradition in the arts all within a friendly and caring pastoral system. Pupils are bright, happy and kind with unique talents and interests where staff ensure every child is nurtured and challenged allowing them to reach their full potential.

This independent prep school has a strong and proud rugby tradition. They are looking to appoint an inspirational Head of Rugby who will build on their sporting successes and continue to develop rugby at all levels throughout the school. The ability to inspire, nurture and develop confidence in children is essential for this role.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • excellent rugby knowledge, ideally RFU Level 3 qualified
  • a strong degree and exemplary coaching qualifications and experience, working with school-age rugby players and a high understanding of the 7 to 13 age range
  • the ability to identify and develop aspirational rugby players
  • a proven track record of success that would add to the School's sporting culture
  • excellent interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to work as part of a team both on and off the playing field.
