To work from our Wrangle Depot, delivering packaging, both locally and countrywide, in curtain sided trailers, in a professional and timely manner. This could be either a 'Drop and Swap' or waiting to be unloaded by the customer.
Applicants must hold a clean Class 1 licence and have at least 1 year’s previous experience, with a sound knowledge of driver rules and the working time directive.
Days of work: Monday - Friday and alternate Saturdays. The job is predominantly day work but you must be available to stay out in your cab whenever required with little or no notice. Typically starting anytime between 4am - 7am from the Wrangle depot, and you must be willing to stay out overnight if required.
You must be able to work on your own initiative and be willing to put a day's shift in - some days can be long and you must be prepared to do early starts and late finishes as necessitated by the business.
You will occasionally be required to do short trips in a hook loader to assist our recycling division - and be prepared to drive a shunter vehicle at our Wrangle depot to cover occasional staff holidays. Full training will be given.
You will be responsible for keeping your lorry to a high standard and adhere to our Health and Safety rules. Current Forklift licence would be an advantage but not essential. Must be able to communicate in fluent English.
Job Type: Full-time permanent contract.
Salary: £14.83 per hour and £16.14 overtime (for hours worked over 39 each week). Night out rate: £50 per night.
