The predicted salary is between 27000 - 28500 £ per year.

Main Purpose of Role: Provide leadership by establishing and maintaining company expectations through demonstrating high standards of working while being conscious of Health & Safety. Continuously monitor performance and activities of palletising, wrapping, labelling and then loading of those products received from Production.

Principal Tasks:

  • Ensure that all pallets are stacked to their required configuration within product quality and safety specifications.
  • Utilise floor space through using designated areas for Hold, ADA and W.I.P. pallets, to avoid bottleneck situations.
  • Ensure that all resources are controlled efficiently for the achieving of daily activities and standards.
  • Administration duties as required, including Email, Shift Reports and WMS system:
    • Monitor urgent Prod. Order emails and action accordingly.
    • Communicate possible bottleneck situation to allow solutions to be offered.
    • Work with Managers and Shift Clerks on staff levels i.e. holidays, absence.
    • Record and email Despatch Report (at the designated times).
    • Report continual quality issues i.e. taped, damaged boxes.
    • Ordering of designated customer trailers (ASDA/JS).
    • Weekly stock count, including Part Pallet control and required Negative Adjustments.
  • Develop constructive working relationship with other Despatch Shift Leaders through off shift team work, communication and shift handovers.
  • Train and monitor staff in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Safe System of Working (S.S.O.W.) and Tool Box Talks; including new employees.
  • Work with staff to create team spirit, improve knowledge, skills and attitude through ensuring procedures are being adhered to the standards expected.
  • Identify areas of inefficiency, systems, staff or environment, and communicate ideas and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure that Housekeeping is influenced so that working areas are kept clean, tidy and that Hygiene rules and regulations are observed at all times.
  • Discipline – can and should discuss with individuals minor breaches of discipline but formal disciplinary action cannot be taken.
  • Discussion forms part of the administration duties for recording and monitor against KPI including staff reviews.
  • Conduct Return to Work interviews, complete absence investigation form and record absence accordingly.
  • Ensure a safe working environment through Health & Safety compliance, understanding legislation and regulation policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with Warehouse Section Leaders for required consumables.
  • Action any other reasonable requests from Warehouse Manager.
