We would not be able to do what we do without our dedicated Health & Safety experts! A huge part of our success is our Health & Safety team, continuously driving a positive health & safety culture as well as developing and implementing best practice. We’re now looking for an experienced Group Head of Health & Safety Manager to take the reins on all things under the H&S umbrella and continue to drive a positive Health & Safety culture across our 5 manufacturing sites in the UK & NI.
About The Role
Reporting directly to the Group Head of Manufacturing, you’ll take full responsibility of all elements of Health & Safety throughout the Group. Upholding legal compliance, you’ll focus on minimising risks and fostering a secure and healthy working environment. Liaising closely with the Site H&S Managers, you’ll take the lead on delivering robust risk management frameworks.
On a typical day, you will:
- Understand, challenge and seek to improve safety standards within the Group in line with legislative requirements and “best practice” to drive a continuous improvement philosophy in all areas.
- Assist and progress issues with regulatory authorities and insurers on key matters, including Fire Risk Assessments and Certification, RIDDOR reporting, Emergency Planning.
- Ensure full utilisation of the Health & Safety team across all sites by effectively managing, coaching, mentoring, training and leading-by-example.
- Support Group Safety Teams by attending their meetings; report on completion rates of issues and proactively ensure closure of non-conformances.
- Develop and participate in safety audits & tours, ensuring all non-conformances are documented and take responsibility for completing action plans as a result.
What will we need from you?
- Experience working within a food/FMCG/Manufacturing environment ideally in a leadership role across multiple sites.
- Demonstrable experience of developing safe systems of work, carrying out H&S Audits, conducting risk assessments and delivering training.
- A NEBOSH Diploma/Certificate and a member of IOSH.
- Experience delivering in-house training such as fire safety, manual handling, FLT driving and IOSH would be great.
This is a Multi-Site role and will require weekly travel to Corby, Scunthorpe, Westhoughton and Tamworth. There will be occasional travel to NI. Ideally, it would be beneficial to be closer to our flagship site in Corby, however this isn’t essential as long as you are able and happy to travel.
You’ll benefit from working side by side with some of the best people in the snack industry! Not only that, we have a dedicated Learning & Development team on site, committed to offering you the courses and qualifications to further your career.
Here at Tayto, we’re never just looking for the “now”, but always looking for the future. Could that be you?
