We have an exciting new opportunity to join our business as Environment & Sustainability Manager, primarily based from our Corby site but with responsibility for our 5 manufacturing sites in the UK & NI.

About the Role:

Working to ensure Tayto Group Ltd operates in a way that works to minimise our environmental impact and promote long-term sustainability. Reporting directly to the Group Head Health & Safety, the Environmental & Sustainability Manager will play a critical role in the development and delivery of the Group Environment & Sustainability strategy, ensuring operational practices meet current and future legislation as well as customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop & implement the Group sustainability plan including carbon reduction plans
  • Work with Group leadership to set out long-term goals, and target setting which delivers Tayto Group’s sustainability plan for planet, product & people
  • Environmental Risk management & compliance:
  • Establish & maintain a comprehensive risk assessment for sites and Tayto Group ltd.
  • Develop a clear environmental risk mitigation plan & incident response
  • Maintain organisational competence with respect to environmental regulations, permits and any other legal / regulatory requirements within UK Legislation
  • Reporting & measurement:
  • Ownership for timely, accurate reporting and measurement of KPIs (including carbon emissions, water, waste & packaging) and action planning to inform internal & external stakeholders (including ESOS, M2030 & EcoVardis)
  • Development of improvement Roadmaps for key Planet resources including carbon emission
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • An effective communicator who can work effectively at all levels of the Organisation from continuous improvement & engagement activities with front line employees through to building knowledge and strategic plans with Board members. Ability to also work collaboratively with external stakeholders including customers and suppliers to drive improvements:
  • Ability to promote & nurture a Sustainable culture at Tayto by promoting new ways of working that inspires teams
  • Innovation & Change:
  • Support change process within Tayto to drive informed decision which deliver an environmental sound and sustainable future for Tayto Group Ltd

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years within a similar role
  • Experience working within a food/FMCG/Manufacturing environment in a leadership role, preferably across multiple sites
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering effective Environmental and Sustainability strategy’s
  • Good understanding of environmental legislation in the UK and NI
  • Knowledge of Scope 1, 2 & 3 and reduction plans
  • Understanding of effluent treatment plant and working with water regulators
  • Knowledge with working with external providers like M2030, Ecovardis
  • ISO 14001, 50001 good understanding auditor qualification possible lead auditor advantage
  • IMEA certificate in Environmental or demonstrable equivalent experience
  • NEBOSH Environmental certificate
  • Driving license
