This is a senior management position which will work across all areas of the resort supporting and motivating the team, with a focus on providing the highest level of standards and services to all guests. As Duty Manager, you will be present on the floor, taking an active role in the day-to-day operations of the Resort. A proactive senior manager, the Duty Manager will excel in planning ahead and be very organised.
Working with, and under the guidance of the General Manager and the Operations Manager, the Duty Manager will lead, drive, motivate, implement and track a clear and concise operational plan adhering to the company's goals, aims, culture and financial targets. The Duty Manager will push and pull across departments to get the most efficient performance out of the resort each day, whilst tackling issues with both guests and staff as they occur.
Driving operational efficiency, service and problem solving are key aspects of this role, and standing in for the Operations Manager in their absence is vital to continuity and progression. A key objective of the Duty Manager will be to ensure our Front of House operation is fully operational at all times to ensure a consistency of service for our guests, with a focus on our Reception team.
A pro-active and results driven service professional, the Duty Manager is responsible for, but not limited to:
- Working with department heads to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of all properties and resort facilities, maintaining high standards of service, cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Liaising with all departments to maintain open lines of communication across the board.
- Preparing the schedule in cooperation with the General Manager and Operations Manager.
- Focusing on a positive environment for employees and guests.
- Ensuring that guest requests are executed correctly.
- Performing ad hoc daily operational tasks in a timely manner and to a high standard.
- Leading from the front in striving to set a professional example to the operations team and finding the most commercial solutions to constantly improving the operation.
- Exceeding guest expectations by continually improving customer engagement and ensuring all feedback is acted upon efficiently.
- Being a brand ambassador and living and breathing Taymouth Marina's culture and values.
- Motivating, managing, and developing your team, promoting an independent spirit yet professional environment that aligns with our values.
- Deputising for the Operations Manager in their absence and leading team meetings with department heads, ensuring all departments are working towards set objectives.
- Providing the GM with relevant data and reporting that includes guest satisfaction, salary forecasting and department challenges that may have a direct and indirect impact on business performance.
- Constantly evaluating the customer journey for each department and working with the GM to elevate the experience.
- Working with Heads of Departments and the Operations Manager to agree operating staffing levels, scheduling, communications and forecasting of staffing levels.
- Liaising with the People Manager to highlight personnel issues, recruitment demands, people plan and accommodation requirements.
- Ensuring full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, by managing risk assessment completion, monitoring safety measures, and auditing our wide range of facilities regularly.
