Our General Labourer works across the Facilities, Development and Grounds teams. Reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager, you assist with a variety of general tasks and any emergency call outs, contributing to the smooth running of the Taymouth Castle and Glenlyon estates, and the Kenmore village. This could include but is not limited to guest activities and member housing as well as our team accommodation and various buildings and assets.
The scope and variety of work carried out in this role will expand as the club grows and develops. People are our priority; your expertise and knowledge will contribute to the safety, comfort, and overall experience of our guests and team members throughout the club.
Offering a variety of estate-wide logistics that can include the safe transportation of any assets, equipment, and materials going to and from Taymouth Castle and Glenlyon estate, the Kenmore Village, and Moness resort. Assist with any site deliveries and the loading and off-loading, moving to the designated storage facility safely and securely. Assisting with the management of storage assets and equipment, and the assembly of new assets and equipment, which could include office or outdoor furniture.
We do the right thing and follow the correct procedures, including poor weather preventative and reactive maintenance, which could include floods, leaves, snow, and ice. Working alongside other departments to ensure club-wide external housekeeping is maintained to the highest standard in both the back and front of house areas.
You assist the facilities team with routine utility management by maintaining water and fuel supplies to key assets, interim staff vehicle maintenance, and the general upkeep and cleaning as required. You may be assigned other duties and any special project work.
You navigate mobile applications to report and record tasks and have good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. You utilise the Workday platform to record hours and absences; full training is provided.
Although the role is based at Taymouth Castle, there will be travel between assets. You will be required to perform tasks that require heavy lifting and physical exertion as well as working in challenging terrain in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, and wind. You uphold our exceptional standards while demonstrating passion and flair in the pursuit of service excellence.

Previous experience in a similar role or environment or an estate environment and a real passion and desire to continually raise the bar of excellence. Highly motivated with a sense of pride in work. Excellent time-management with the ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and adapt accordingly to suit the profile of the business. Flexible in approach to working hours to support operational requirements, including peak periods and emergency situations.
Qualifications: Full UK driving licence – you will be required to travel between locations.
