We are currently offering the opportunity to implement laboratory H&S policies and monitor compliance within an innovative biotechnology company based in Cambridge.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
This role will require travel between multiple sites β only applicants with a valid driving licence and car access will be considered for this role.
The Role
- Serving as the main point of contact within the organisation regarding H&S queries,
- Ensuring company-wide compliance with H&S policies and procedures,
- Performing risk assessments and investigations, ensuring that accidents and incidents are recorded accurately,
- Writing, reviewing, and updating documentation related to key H&S policies and procedures,
- Ensuring that staff members are trained in H&S practices,
- Preparing and reviewing COSHH assessments related to the use of reagents and chemicals,
- Contributing to H&S committee meetings to provide updates on policy adherence and H&S advice.
Current / Recent Experience Required:
- Expertise in H&S legislation β e.g. Health and Safety Work Act 1974, Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, COSHH regulations (essential).
- Prior experience working within a laboratory environment (essential).
- Holds an H&S qualification β e.g. NEBOSH or IOSH (essential).
- Prior experience working within a cleanroom environment would be a bonus (desirable).
Profile Required:
- Existing UK work eligibility (essential).
- A valid driving licence and car access β this role requires travel between multiple sites (essential).
- Happy to commute / relocate to Cambridge (essential).
