Chemistry Technician (Suitable for Life Science Graduates) Location – Oxfordshire Salary – £25,000 – £26,000 Contract – Permanent Hours – Monday – Friday 40 hours a week Our client is a leading pharmaceutical CRO based in Oxfordshire who are offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join their expanding pharmaceutical operative team. This position is best suited to those who have an interest in life sciences; candidates with existing warehouse/lab experience; or those who have recently graduated with a life science degree (Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biology etc). The Role Full training is provided for this position, so don’t worry if you do not have experience in the responsibilities! As a Chemistry Technician, you will be responsible for: * Supporting the product of chemicals on a pilot plant producing batches of up to 150kg. * Weighing out raw materials for production. * Stock checking and inventory management, consumable ordering. * Routine and preventative maintenance of pilot plant equipment (reactors, vacuum pumps, filtration systems, dryers, scrubbers, heaters etc). * Filling out of forms relating to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) including Batch documentation records, COSHH forms etc. * This will be done whilst adhering to GMP, following company procedures to maintain the high safety standards. Skills and Experience Needed Suitable applicants will have: * An interest in working in a chemical manufacturing setting (essential) * Prior laboratory or chemical manufacturing experience (desired) * A degree in a life science discipline (chemistry, pharmaceutical science, biochemistry, chemistry etc) (desired) * Be comfortable with manual handling of raw chemicals (essential) * The ability to efficiently organise, plan and time manage (essential) * The ability to effectively communicate with colleagues; both written and verbally (essential) * The ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks (essential) * A large sense of accountability (essential) * Right to work in the UK without need for visa sponsorship now, or in the future (essential) The Package Being a leading pharmaceutical CRO, our client is offering the chance to be part of a growing organisation on a permanent basis, with a competitive salary and generous benefits package
