We are currently offering the opportunity for an experienced scientific Project Manager to join an innovative biotechnology company based in Cambridge. Our client is seeking a new hard-working individual to contribute to the development of novel RNA-based therapeutics. This is the perfect opportunity for an individual with several years' experience in a Project Management position within the biotech or drug discovery sectors looking for a permanent and full-time role to advance their career. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.

The Role

  • Leading the planning and delivery of client-focused technical projects, as well as some in-house R&D projects.
  • Design and manage the full lifecycle of project management including proposal writing, project planning, timeline management, budget management, internal/external stakeholder communication, project completion, resource management, etc.
  • Occasional supporting of projects relating to process and product development, product scale up and regulatory submissions.
  • Writing commercial proposals alongside the technical and sales teams.
  • Communicating project timelines and updates with clients.
  • Liaising with a wide variety of teams (sales, finance, R&D, process development, legal, senior management) including presenting project updates to senior management.
  • Spotting and implementing improvements for project and departmental efficiency.

Current / Recent Experience Required

  • BSc or MSc in a biological or life science discipline. (essential, equivalent experience welcome)
  • At least 3 years of project management experience within a biotechnology, biological, or drug discovery setting with a strong preference for technical projects. (essential)
  • PMP, PRINCE2 or other project management certifications would be a bonus. (desired)
  • Strong portfolio of successfully delivered projects of varying complexity. (essential)
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders of varying seniority (both internal and external). (essential)
  • Proven ability to prioritise whilst being detail oriented when working on various projects simultaneously. (essential)

Profile Required

  • Right to work in the UK without need for future sponsorship currently, or in the future (essential).
  • Happy to commute / relocate to Cambridge for 1-2 days a week onsite (essential).
  • An interest in working closely with clients on client-based projects (essential).
