Taylorollinson are supporting a global laboratory instrumentation company in their search for a technical sales specialist. The role will be home office based and the successful Technical Sales Specialist will be out visiting laboratory and in-process customers c3 days a week. The successful candidate will be supporting a large territory so it is critical that the Technical Sales Specialist has excellent territory management skills. You will have experience of selling instrumentation in to labs and in-process environments and will have a strong technical background and will have studied chemistry (or related) to at least degree level (or have the equivalent hands-on lab experience). Our client is seeking a competency based sales person who enjoys a technical sales process; is experienced managing long sales cycles and has a previous experience selling in to scientific businesses across the territory.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Able to understand the a client’s technical requirements and applications to match suitable products
• Disseminate technical features and benefits of the product range to the customer
• Give technical demonstrations alone or with colleagues support
• Sell direct or work with distributors where appropriate
• Competitor awareness with relation to products, new innovations and clients’ needs
• Attend conferences/exhibitions as required
• Accurate forecasting and sales planning to manage pipeline of opportunities to achieve KPI’s and revenue targets
About you:
• Degree qualified in Chemistry (or related) or with equivalent hands-on chem lab experience
• Technical competent with lab instrumentation and willing to learn new product specifications
• Good communication skills and able to build solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Previous field sales experience selling lab instrumentation (or consumables/reagents/services)
• Full UK driving licence
• Fluent in English
