A global conglomerate and specialist in the manufacture of precision lab-based analytical instrumentation is looking to recruit a Sales Executive. Representing their elemental, inorganic analysis and metallurgy focused portfolio, the Sales Executive will take control of a region in the UK to continue to develop business within their existing customer base as well as hunting out new customers and clients. The Sales Executive will be selling into a number of technical sectors including the metals and metallurgy markets, battery and electrochem, environmental & waste, and aero/auto markets.
This Sales Executive role is a field sales position and the successful candidate will likely be out seeing customers 3-4 days a week, which may require occasional overnight stays. You’ll be working from a home office for the remainder of the working week.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage your territory to meet new and existing customers to achieve sales target for the region
- Target new business opportunities within existing accounts and new clients
- Build strong relationships with existing customers to influence and maximise sales opportunities
- Provide product demonstrations, either personally or work with Applications team either at the clients\’ site or at the company\’s in-house demo lab
- Represent the company at relevant trade shows and events
- Be aware of competitor products, feedback to product development team on customer wants/needs, innovation opportunities, and gaps in the market
- Work closely with the Sales Manager to feedback on challenges/opportunities within the sector
This role would suit an individual with the following qualifications and experience:
- Degree qualified in a Science (Chemistry, Physics preferred) or relevant engineering discipline
- Good understanding of elemental/metallurgy and inorganic analysis
- Current/recent field sales experience, ideally selling a similar product or technology
- Strong communicator with excellent business relationship building skills
- Full UK driving licence and able to travel 3-4 days a week and occasional overnight stays
- Right to work in the UK
- Strong sales and negotiation skills
