Our client is a well-established family business with core values of quality and service, offering services in Grounds Maintenance, Landscaping, and Environmental Water and Woodland Management.
The main purpose of the role is to manage and promote the Environmental Department, predominantly to expand on a small customer base including Drainage Boards, Environment Agency, River Authorities, Water Authorities, Landowners, Woodland Forestry, and Solar Park Management Companies. The Department aims to build up to a turnover of a minimum of £2 million, and the candidate will be required to encourage a positive working environment while building and managing the existing team.
The candidate will be responsible for:
- All Health and Safety Management within the Department, including delivery of toolbox talks, site safety inspections, inductions of sites, writing RAMS, Method Statements, and COSHH, and dealing with accident reporting.
- Arranging all servicing and maintenance of machinery/equipment, including Tractors, Flail Mowers, Excavators, Chippers, Vehicles, Biomass machinery, and Remote Control Mowers.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and good writing and presentation skills to prepare and send quotations and emails.
- Liaison with the administration department regarding the computerised HR system, including signing and approving the team’s hours and return to work after sickness.
- Working in collaboration with the GM Department where crossover of operations or staffing occurs.
- Retaining a safe and tidy working environment within the outside depot.
- Knowledge of planting trees, staking, matting, and understanding of 360 excavators, including tree shears, biomass machinery, ground preparation for seeding, and ditch and watercourse profiling.
This role requires individuals looking to utilise their knowledge to develop this business; consequently, Profit Share could be discussed.
YOU WILL HAVE:
- SMSTS or similar
- NPORS (excavators for over 10 tonnes and below 10 tonnes, including dump trailer)
- Other desirable qualifications: Lantra Handheld Hedge Trimmer, Brushcutter, Remote Control Mower, off-road 4x4 vehicle, woodchipper qualifications, ATV 4x4 qualification, ROLO, Telescopic handler up to 9m, Site Environmental awareness scheme, Water Awareness.
