Taylor Woodrow is recruiting for a Contracts Manager to oversee multiple National Highways civils schemes across the South East. Based out of our offices in Watford or London Waterloo, the Contracts Manager will be responsible for leading Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), development and delivery of schemes on National Highways' Scheme Delivery Framework within their South East Region. Schemes are wide ranging include rehabilitation of structures, concrete carriage way renewals, drainage, geotechnical stabilisation, sign renewals and extensive survey packages.
Duties
- Develop and drive our highways civils schemes from ECI stage to delivery
- Work closely with National Highways to build long lasting and collaborative relationships to enable successful delivery of projects
- Take an active role in the planning stages of the highways schemes
- Manage your site teams and supply chain partners to ensure work is carried out safely and within program
- Work closely with our Pre-Construction team and the client, assisting with the development of the programmes and influencing during the ECI stage
- Develop and manage contractual programmes, updating cost forecasts alongside the commercial team.
- Develop individuals in your team, through coaching and training
- Ensure materials, plant and sub-contractors are procured to meet targets
- Assist the Operations Manager with identifying future work opportunities within the region
Person Specification
- Experience in the ECI and delivery of civils infrastructure projects, particularly Highways schemes
- Experience in working collaboratively with other parties and teams to successfully deliver projects is essential
- Knowledge of NEC Contracts is essential
- Experience of working with National Highways is beneficial but not essential
- Experience in management of temporary works is beneficial
- A formal qualification in a civil engineering related subject is advantageous
