Job Description

Taylor Woodrow is recruiting two experienced Site Managers to deliver a major infrastructure scheme for Southend City Council. The project includes bridge demolition, earthworks, drainage, infill works, roundabout construction, traffic signal installation, and junction remodelling.

We’re looking for proactive leaders with strong civil engineering expertise to manage day-to-day site activities and drive safe, efficient delivery. This role offers the opportunity to work on a high-profile scheme while contributing to project planning, programming, and commercial forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily site operations across multiple live projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Support project planning, programming, and delivery strategy alongside the wider team.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team on cost estimates, forecasting, and subcontractor management.
  • Lead and coordinate all on-site activities, ensuring strict compliance with HSEQ standards.
  • Contribute to the ECI process, including buildability reviews and risk assessments.
  • Engage with the client, stakeholders, and supply chain to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Monitor progress, manage subcontractors, and maintain accurate site records.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on infrastructure, highways, or major civils projects.
  • Strong knowledge of earthworks, drainage, and general civil engineering.
  • Experience supporting planning and working with commercial teams on cost management.
  • Ability to work across multiple sites in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications.
