Taylor Woodrow is looking for a proactive and experienced Site Manager to lead the on-site delivery of multiple National Highways projects, each valued up to £1 million. You’ll oversee 2–3 live sites, as well as support in Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phases of upcoming works. The role will require a deep understanding of earthworks, drainage, and general civil engineering, as well as the ability to support both project planning and commercial forecasting activities.

Duties

  1. Manage daily site operations on multiple live projects ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  2. Support the planning and programming of works in collaboration with the project team.
  3. Work closely with the commercial team to provide input for cost estimates, forecasts, and subcontractor management.
  4. Lead and coordinate all on-site activities, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  5. Take part in the ECI process to shape delivery strategy, buildability reviews, and risk identification.
  6. Liaise with the client, local stakeholders, and supply chain to maintain positive working relationships and ensure expectations are met.
  7. Monitor progress, manage subcontractors, and ensure project records are accurately maintained.

Person Specification

  1. Proven experience as a Site Manager on infrastructure, highways, or civil engineering projects.
  2. Strong understanding of earthworks, drainage, and general civils.
  3. Familiarity with National Highways standards and procedures is desirable.
  4. Experience supporting planning activities and working alongside commercial teams on cost management.
  5. Comfortable working across multiple sites and in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
  7. Relevant SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications.
