Taylor Woodrow is recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the joint venture responsible for the construction and delivery of HS2’s Old Oak Common station in North West London. The circa £1bn project will include the delivery of six underground platforms as well as up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line.
The main purpose of this role is to support the Commercial Management of the Works Packages for the Utilities Division.
Duties
- To support the review of tenders & cost data.
- To support the preparation of the Revised Forecast for a Project.
- Manage the preparation of the monthly CVR and associated commercial reports.
- To be able to report and explain the commercial progress to senior divisional staff.
- With other members of the team, produce and provide accurate forecasts of project cost to completion and final value.
- Continually monitor projected costs to completion in line with budget.
- Ensure that necessary interface information between customer, sub-contractors and other departments is provided in a timely manner.
- Monitor cash flow and valuation plan, ensuring applications are made correctly and in a timely manner.
- Advise on alternative forms of contract & procurement arrangements.
- Awareness of disputes resolution including options, structure as well as knowledge of the SCL Protocol.
- Application of legislation and ability to liaise with legal experts.
- Management and reporting of Commercial Risk and Opportunity.
- Management of disallowed cost.
Person Specification
- NEC Experience Essential.
- Valid CSCS card is required.
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
- Membership of RICS, ICES or CIOB.
- Eligibility to work and live permanently in the UK.
