As a Regional Planner, you’ll oversee the planning and scheduling of multiple live projects valued up to £1 million. You\’ll play a crucial role in ensuring delivery programmes are realistic, coordinated, and risk-aware—adding value through proactive planning support and stakeholder collaboration.
You’ll also contribute to the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase, helping shape construction strategies and timelines from the outset.
Duties
- Create, develop, and maintain project programmes using Primavera P6 (MS Project or Asta also considered)
- Monitor project progress, identify delays or risks, and provide mitigation strategies
- Work closely with site and project teams to gather input for planning purposes and ensure programmes are aligned with on-site realities, logistics, and constraints
- Identify and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies and advising project teams on recovery plans where slippage occurs
- Support ECI planning and provide input into tender-stage submissions
- Liaise with commercial, design, and delivery teams to align programmes and ensure feasibility
- Produce programme updates and reports to internal and external stakeholders
Person Specification
- Proven experience as a Planner on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 (or other planning software such as Asta/MS Project)
- Ideally from an engineering background – with the ability to understand the practical challenges of working on site
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Experience managing multiple small to medium-sized projects simultaneously
