Overview

We’re looking for an Senior Environmental Advisor to join our team, supporting a variety of civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the North. From frameworks with local authorities to high-profile developments such as SPRINT Birmingham, urban realm redevelopments, and park & ride extensions in Manchester, you’ll play a key role in driving sustainable delivery and environmental best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on environmental compliance across multiple sites, ensuring standards align with ISO 14001 and company procedures.
  • Develop and maintain Project Environmental Management Plans, identifying risks and putting in place robust mitigation.
  • Monitor, audit, and report on environmental performance (waste, water, noise, dust) and drive improvements.
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and communities to manage environmental concerns and promote positive engagement.
  • Champion environmental awareness on-site through training, forums, and communication campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in an environmental role within construction or civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, with the ability to ensure compliance across sites.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders and project teams.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to identify improvements and deliver practical solutions.
  • Flexibility to travel across project sites (full UK driving licence required).

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full Time – 40 hours – Monday to Friday
