Regional Planner

Taylor Woodrow, a leading infrastructure and civil engineering contractor, is looking for a proactive and experienced Regional Planner to join our team supporting our long-term National Highways contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a range of key infrastructure schemes across the region, supporting projects from early contractor involvement (ECI) through to completion.

About the Role:

As a Regional Planner, you’ll oversee the planning and scheduling of multiple live projects valued up to £1 million. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring delivery programmes are realistic, coordinated, and risk-aware—adding value through proactive planning support and stakeholder collaboration.

You’ll also contribute to the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase, helping shape construction strategies and timelines from the outset.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create, develop, and maintain project programmes using Primavera P6 (MS Project or Asta also considered)
• Monitor project progress, identify delays or risks, and provide mitigation strategies
• Work closely with site and project teams to gather input for planning purposes and ensure programmes are aligned with on-site realities, logistics, and constraints
• Identify and manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies and advising project teams on recovery plans where slippage occurs
• Support ECI planning and provide input into tender-stage submissions
• Liaise with commercial, design, and delivery teams to align programmes and ensure feasibility
• Produce programme updates and reports to internal and external stakeholders

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience as a Planner on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 (or other planning software such as Asta/MS Project)
• Ideally from an engineering background – with the ability to understand the practical challenges of working on site
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Experience managing multiple small to medium-sized projects simultaneously
