We are recruiting for a Project Commercial Director to lead all commercial aspects of our Joint Venture working on a national Energy Infrastructure Framework delivering projects across England and Wales. The framework includes the design and construction of a number of strategic infrastructure projects to help support the transition of the UK, boosting energy security and helping the nation become more self-sufficient. Based out of Birmingham, the Project Commercial Director will be responsible for leading the commercial team to deliver work infrastructure work with a value of £200m per annum over five years.
Duties:
- Lead the commercial delivery and post contract activities across the Joint Venture.
- Ensure project start up procedures are implemented accurately.
- Define accurately and concisely the commercial parameters of opportunities, ensuring they are in line with the project plan.
- Manage, reduce and drive out unnecessary costs and inefficiencies on the projects.
- Manage the preparation of monthly site financial reporting.
- Ensure the production of accurate and timely Project Accounts.
- Attend JV Operational board meetings to report on commercial activity.
- Verify and monitor monthly site financial reporting.
- Take a key role in commercial negotiations with the client and adopt a major part in achieving satisfactory outcomes in terms of profit and customer satisfaction.
- Support development plans for capturing new opportunities.
- Contribute toward supply chain and commercial strategy post-tenders.
- Ensuring compliance with supply chain strategy.
- Applications for Payment and Invoicing.
- Ensure cash flow and profit are optimised.
- Monitor and ensure prompt resolution of final accounts, including settlement of variations, claims and disputes.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience working as a commercial lead on a major infrastructure project is essential.
- Formal qualification in commercial management, quantity surveying or equivalent.
- Proven track record of delivering profitable infrastructure projects from start to finish.
- Chartered status is advantageous.
