We are now recruiting a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on the A511 Improvement Scheme in Leicestershire.

The A511 project involves the upgrade of key roundabouts and the construction of a new link road, enhancing connectivity and reducing congestion in the area. This is a £40 million infrastructure programme delivered under an NEC Option C contract.

As the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the successful commercial delivery of the project. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will lead a team of Quantity Surveyors and oversee all commercial aspects of the scheme, ensuring value for money while maintaining compliance with contractual and financial procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all quantity surveying functions on the project
  • Provide accurate cost advice and reporting throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure contract compliance and manage change control under NEC Option C
  • Liaise closely with operational teams, clients, and supply chain partners
  • Manage procurement and subcontract packages
  • Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team
  • Maintain strong commercial governance and risk management

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor at a senior or managing level
  • Experience working on infrastructure or highway projects
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, particularly Option C
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Professional membership (RICS or equivalent) is desirable
