Taylor Woodrow, as part of the Great Grid Partnership, is delivering one of the UK's most significant power infrastructure programmes.
We are looking for a Site Engineer to support the delivery of major civil engineering works across the Norwich to Tilbury project.
This is a site-based role where you will play a key part in the planning, coordination and delivery of construction activities across a range of complex infrastructure projects, including substations, overhead line works, earthworks, roads, drainage and foundations.
Working alongside experienced project teams, you will provide engineering support to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
Duties
- Carry out setting out and engineering control activities across multiple work areas.
- Support the safe and successful delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure works.
- Assist with quality assurance inspections and documentation.
- Produce and maintain engineering records and site reports.
- Support works involving roads, drainage, earthworks, structures, piling and foundations.
- Coordinate with construction and management teams to ensure work is delivered to programme requirements.
- Use engineering technology and digital reporting platforms to support project delivery.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
- Assist with problem solving and technical support across site operations.
Person Specification
We are looking for motivated engineering professionals who combine strong technical capability with a proactive and collaborative approach.
Essential
- Experience within a Site Engineer or similar engineering role.
- Experience carrying out setting out activities.
- Experience working on civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, highways or major construction projects.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Qualification in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience of earthworks, drainage, structures, roads or foundations.
- Knowledge of piling activities and foundation construction.
- Experience working on power, utilities or substation projects.
- Experience using CAD, GIS or digital construction management platforms.
- HSG47, First Aid, SMSTS or other relevant industry certifications.
