As a Planning Manager you will be responsible for leading on the preparation, submission and negotiation of planning applications including S106 agreements and viability models. To be successful within the role you must liaise with key stakeholders within the business to manage schemes from identification through the planning process and beyond. The role reports to the Land, Planning and Technical Director and engages with the community, third‑party landowners and stakeholders during the planning process.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Scope, tender and appoint the appropriate consultant team required to prepare successful applications and appeals.
  • Effectively manage the external consultant team and track professional fees against project fee budgets.
  • Deliver projects on time by demonstrating project management skills and coordination.
  • Contribute to technical reports and comment on relevant plans and documents.
  • Secure planning approval for well‑designed schemes by demonstrating a strong narrative in line with the latest national planning guidance.
  • Engage with all parts of the business to ensure planning applications are optimised and meet the needs of customers and all areas of the business.
  • Manage community engagement on planning applications.

Key Qualifications

  • A degree qualification in a Planning‑related subject, or demonstration of transferable skills.
  • At least five years' experience with a Planning and Development background and MRTPI qualification.
  • Experience with another developer/housebuilder or Planning Consultancy desirable.
