This role can be based from Wolverhampton, Bristol, East Anglia or Southern Counties. The Regional Solicitor is a key role within the Group Legal team, providing full legal support to Taylor Wimpey’s business operations in relation to the acquisition, development and disposal of land for residential purposes (and related matters) and other tasks as may be required from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Overall management of legal services and all development related legal issues on a regional basis, liaising with Divisional Chair(s) and Business Unit Managing Directors, Land Directors, Strategic Managing Directors and other members of the legal team.
  • Management of relationships with panel and other law firms and enforcing compliance with the legal requirements of the Operating Framework.
  • High level monitoring of transactions and maximising value received from the panel law firms.
  • Undertake some hands-on transactional work including land acquisition/disposal by way of outright purchase, conditional contracts, options, collaboration and joint venture agreements.
  • Help to develop and promote the Group Legal team as a key part of TW’s operations by providing high quality legal advice.
  • Assisting with the provision of guidance/training to the business on current/new legislation and regulatory matters affecting TW’s business operations.

Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 8 years PQE with transactional residential development experience.
  • Qualified solicitor with experience in Residential development.
  • Ability to communicate well with all stakeholders and set clear professional standards.
  • Well planned and organised with good relations and integrity.
