The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 £ per year.

You will be responsible for providing legal secretarial/admin support to both the Regional Solicitors and Divisional Legal Manager. You will provide an efficient, service led and cost-effective legal secretarial service that supports the business, particularly in relation to its key operations of land acquisition, disposal and plot sales. Based in our Manchester Legal team, working 2 days a week in the office on a Wednesday/Thursday or Thursday/Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with secretarial and administrative support to the Regional Solicitors/Divisional Legal Manager and the Conveyancing teams.
  • Maintain high standards of presentation and accurate content of all documents and correspondence issued by the Department.
  • Perform administrative duties including photocopying, scanning, producing and binding engrossment documents, arranging meetings, coordinating diaries, franking post, and printing correspondence in all media.
  • Assist with mail for the Department and retrieving files for Regional Solicitors/Divisional Legal Manager; ensure mail is scanned, emailed, and securely shredded after upload.
  • Assist with SDLT calculations and completion/submission of SDLT forms.
  • Assist with completion and submission of Land Registry applications.
  • Monitor the progress of outstanding Land Registry applications, chase up online portal correspondence and documentation.
  • Undertake property searches via online portal, respond to requests for further information, chase up as appropriate.
  • Produce and distribute Legal Reports and Contract Packs to the BU and third parties using electronic resources, including checking title registers and obtaining relevant title documentation.
  • Produce correspondence, memoranda and documentation using audio and copy typing as directed.
  • Draft simple correspondence or documentation where appropriate.
  • Produce and update monthly status reports regarding acquisitions, site set up, and other important transactions; log new matters on internal database.
  • Use the Land Registry portal for SIM searches, priority searches, day list enquiries, and other functions.
  • Diarise and keep track of key dates.
  • Maintain filing systems, update and amend paper and electronic filing records, and archive records.
  • Deal with telephone enquiries as they arise, refer to appropriate members of the Legal team or other departments within the Company.

Qualifications

  • Substantial legal secretarial/support experience within a conveyancing or property‑focused setting.
  • Experience working to tight deadlines in a fast‑paced, pressurized environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, high standards of presentation, and accurate content of documents.
  • Proficiency in using the Land Registry portal and property search tools.
  • Ability to draft clear and concise correspondence and documentation.
  • Effective time‑management and priority scheduling skills.
