Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver agreed outcomes from projects using appropriate project management techniques, collaboration, leadership and governance.
  • Manage one or more medium to large sized, moderately to highly complex projects end‑to‑end.
  • Oversee analysis and development resources to deliver effort.
  • Scope, plan, execute and monitor projects to keep schedule and budget.
  • Manage the relationship between technology and business at the project level.
  • Include components of resource management, finance management, quality management, control management and business continuity management.
  • Attend the Solihull office 3 days a week with flexibility for project demands.

Project Planning & Implementation

  • Develop project plans to manage end‑to‑end project activities and execution approach.
  • Select techniques and life cycle models based on the context of the project.
  • Establish team structures and a collaborative working environment.
  • Support the development and management of project business cases.
  • Utilise a rigorous process of defining client requirements and project specifications.
  • Help analyse and discuss the potential risks/benefits involved in using the specified technology solution to address the business requirement.
  • Define deliverables, milestones and dependencies.
  • Coordinate with Programme Managers and the Head of Projects and Transformation to select core team and communicate approach, presenting plans and gaining sign‑off from the business and IT Leadership.
  • Develop and execute project plans, including scope, timelines and budgets.
  • Use visual techniques for project tracking and reporting.
  • Track activities against the project schedule and RAID logs, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate.
  • Agree on constraints of cost, timescales, quality and scope.
  • Review experiences and learn from current and previous projects.
  • Optimise utilisation of talent through specific development programmes.
  • Lead the post‑implementation review evaluating project results, including client satisfaction.

Risk Mitigation & People Management

  • Manage day‑to‑day workload of team members, proactively identifying and resolving issues that could present a risk to on‑time implementation.
  • Apply change control and risk management processes.
  • Provide and implement action plans to mitigate risk when applicable.
  • Promote consistent project‑based performance measurement and skill development in the team.
  • Actively participate in HR performance measurement processes.
  • Promote effective teamwork.
  • Provide input to staffing plans at the project level to identify key/required skills.

Knowledge Sharing & Management

  • Promote the use of knowledge management processes and tools.
  • Identify and leverage successful products, processes and best practices across technology.
  • Implement communication and knowledge sharing processes for team members.
  • Assist in evaluating knowledge‑sharing tools and make recommendations for technology organisation's standard approaches/tools.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by leveraging quality improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, etc.).
  • Refine and enhance technology methodologies and/or standards.
  • Ensure documentation is captured in a document management system and publicise deliverable location to the organisation as necessary.
